Kelly was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday evening to begin the process of induction, after a long pregnancy that was complicated by gallbladder problems. Avery had been in the correct position for a majority of the latter part of this pregnancy so we were not expecting any surprises. However, our little one wanted to stand out. Not more than 3 hours into the induction, Kelly's nurse came back into the room and noticed that her stomach looked different, as if the baby had changed positions. Earlier that same morning, Kelly had had an ultrasound that showed Avery head down. Now, the nurse performed another ultrasound and verified that yes, the baby was in a different position, laying horizontal to the right. Kelly's doctor was informed of this change and decided to come in and evaulate the siuation herself. When her doctor arrived, she did a third ultrasound for the day. We learned that now she was facing a completely different direction. At that time, Kelly's doctor felt that it would be best for both the baby and Kelly to have a C-section. So, at a little after 11 pm, Kelly was wheeled back to the OR and less than an hour later, Avery arrived!

Well, we have 2 things in common...Brittany (our 16 year old baby) was born on June 25th, and I had the same thing happen with Moriah (just turned 1). She had been head down for quite a while and while I was in the hospital to be induced, she flipped!
